Looks like nice work and joinery! I had to do one of these 10 years ago, impromptu for a family member, just 1" D4s white pine, square picket style, interior of the house was mostly clear stained pine, was real careful on where/how I fastened as I knew it would come down one day after his wife passed away, she was the one this gate protected from falling down the stairs. When done, had a nice meal with a her husband a bomber pilot and veteran of WWII, he really appreciated the work and the quick installation of same, as I took measurements and built it off site. He handed me some money, which I tried to refuse, but he would not hear of it LOL !
