Was cleaning up some ground today and grabbed a pic of Grandads 77 with Lilliston 7 foot chopper hooked on. People ask why I dont "restore" it. I would be afraid of taking it into a brush patch if it were purdied up!
This tractor did all the work on 50 acres for 30 years and bottom end is still original. There is a lot of piston slap when cold but when warm it quiets down.
My nephew got this chopper for cheap. $130. for new belts. adjust one bearing and it did a good days work today. Any brush 1-1/2" or less gets turned into mulch quickly! It fits the 77 well. These mowers are tough do a nice job a chopping, brush hoggin and even do passable finish work.
