Been more than one who has put on new oil filters and never noticed the old gasket sticking to the filter base. Guy locked up his 1066 just that way. Tried to blame NAPA filter for having two gaskets but that didn't fly. Not engine oil, but customer of ours pumped the transmission dry to the point power steering quit when using a orbit motor applying fertilizer with 5088. No external leak so his land was oiled below the surface. Then , same guy, pulls in to the shop one day with a leak at aux filter on the 5088. I pulled the filter and found two gaskets. I told him the bonehead who changed the filter didn't make sure no gasket had stuck to housing. He calmy says, you changed it. I looked at him and said, yaa, I know, that is why I was pretty sure I cold get away calling someone a bonehead. I refilled his transmission and sent him on his way.
