A local farmer bought a new 1270 CASE about 40 years ago and took very good care of it. During tractor's 2nd year, owner changed oil and began spring plowing. Problem was that oil filter leaked (twisted rubber gasket, Maybe two gaskets, maybe not tight enough, not sure of exact cause). Problem didn't happen right away. He plowed into the very late night and didn't notice oil running down the sides of the brand new filters. Run out of oil, engine seized up and required a complete overhaul at owner's expense.
