Yeah, Al Capp did the "Lil' Abner" cartoon and Fearless Fosdick was his satirical version of Dick Tracy.
But yes, I think one of the fascinating aspects of my lifetime is all of the futuristic gizmos dreamed up by cartoonists and science fiction types of my childhood that have become reality or have been far surpassed.
Remember Lil' Abner, Daisy May, Moonbeam McSwine, the Sadie Hawkins day race, Kickapoo Joy Juice? Eagle Eye Fleegle and his single, double and triple whammy's? Was it Senator Bull Moose? He was Capps satirical version of TR and his Bull Moose Party? Remember Li' Abner's obsession for "po'k chops"? Any one remember the Lil' Abner movie? It was sort of a comedy/musical, if I remember correctly?
