As DavidG said, you have to deduct for the weight of the truck and trailer. You need to go over the scale and rare up before getting your load. The loaders have scales built in so the operator can tell within about 500 lbs. When you are hauling for a living and you are too heavy you go back and dump some off before leaving then get weighed up again. Some quarries won't let you out with an overload. One place that I haul out of, the computer won't print the ticket if it is too high. most places though, they don't care. If you want to drive it they will let it go. But if you get in an accident and you have a printed ticket for the load, you are in trouble.
