Bison sorry for troubles. I hope they get it straitened out. If not let me know, my email address is jimacman@hotmail.com maybe I can help you out.

As for everybody else's posts as a employee of an AGCO and NH dealer for 15 + years I want to pass a few things along.

AGCO is not the highest price of parts. NO ONE has the highest price of parts. EVERYBODY has parts that are priced too high and some are cheap. I will give you an example, I have some IH friends I sell light switches for their older IH tractors because the AGCO switch is the same and is half the price! I get told daily by customers that John Deere has higher priced parts and I know that's a lie too.

AGCO has a good daily order system and has a fairly low rate of backorders. IMHO they could stock up more on new equipment parts but also how are you going to know if a new part on a new machine is going to be defective? With the daily orders you do have to pay for freight.

CNH and NH have an excellent stock order program. Most parts are at the dealer in 2-3 days freight free. The do have some more backorders but are improving in that area. AGCO has a daily stock order program also but it sucks, its an average of 5 days to get them to a dealer. Needs improvement.

Do not discriminate against the parts persons because they are young or female. If you asked me to name the top ten parts people I know all of the females in parts I know will be on that list. Also when I started in my early 20s I was given a very hard time by people because I was young and they didn't want to give me a chance. You have to grow some thick skin and explain to those people you are not an idiot. Still doesn't make you feel any better.

Again there are good and bad parts people and businesses and you can make everyone happy. But before you slam them too bad put yourself in their shoes now and then. They will bend if you bend.

Today's Featured Article - The Day Mom Drove the 8N - by Brian Browning. My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o ... [Read Article]
