The Great Grays are about 1 hour North of Edmonton, Alberta. The picture was taken from a blind on a nearby tree in about May/June. A fellow comes out and bands them every year.
We also have the Northern Saw-Whets, which will use a nest box. If the pictures upload, you can see the Momma Saw-Whet peeking out of a nest box; the other picture shows her babies in the nest box (5 of them, I think). They get banded also.
