Just read an article in a dive publication about a couple from canada on a scuba vacation in florida and georgia. They were diving off tybee island a couple weeks ago in wassaw sound near the mouth of the savana river when they discovered a huge metal cylinder partially buried in the sand. It was a mk-15 3.8 megaton hydrogen bomb that was dropped on feb 5 1958 from a b 47 strato fortress after it collided with an f-85 sabrejet. The pilot was instructed to drop the bomb before landing. It was supposed to be recovered but never found. The bomb took 48 hours to dis arm and recover. Holy cow, hope i dont hit one with a chisel plow.....apparently therevare quite a few that were lost and never found.
