Bob You are right. The cylinder numbers are cast onto the intake manifold, 1-3-5-7 on the left, 2-4-6-8 on the right, same as Chev. Firing order also cast onto manifold. Don't know why IHC had timing to #8, but they put a big yellow sticker on with instructions for timing.
As to the Super A. Every Farmall engine I have seen has the cylinder number cast onto the head, beside the spark plug, #1 at front. WJ
