I cut South from 40 (in Tx) to avoid a snow/Ice storm..got out around Alamongordo and they Shut the Durned road..!!! Down there, they just close the road and wait for the snow/Ice to go away...!!!!
What IS exciting is the be heading West, out of Flagstaff on Black Ice (about every week) loaded and NOT be able to touch the brakes until you get below the Frost-line and that usually was at "Devil Dog Rd"..heading toward Winslow, Az..
