Last year I bought the $69.99 borescope from HF to use in retrieving the broken governor weights from inside the timing cover on my Allis D-17. It worked quite well and I was successful. It took 4 different methods; only one piece was steel that could be attracted to a magnet. It seems the thing to get now is one of the USB scopes that plug right into your desktop or laptop. Cheaper and should work even better. I haven't used it again but I can see where it may come in handy for things like looking inside a gas tank, oil pan, cylinder or whatever should I ever have the need.
