The urge to save humanity is often a convenient disguise for the urge to rule it. It's also known as stoplight syndrome. The reds claim to be green because they are too yellow to admit they are really red. There are large portions of the planet where accurate weather records don't go back that far. This corner of Nebraska was off limits to settlement til statehood. The only proof they have is their climate models and adulterated temperature data. And lets face it, if it can't get to today somewhat accurately, the model is flawed. The sun drives it all. All the oil/ coal/ gas we use today only exists because some plant used sunlight to grow. Remember how we were supposed to have more, more powerful, hurricanes after katrina? Then that got changed when that didn't pan out. And severe tornadoes per 5 year span are at a near 100 year low.
