Weather Channel

I just got in from plowing the drive. Wife had me put on the weather channel. They got some guy in Mass crying about all the snow out there. I'm running out of places to put it. They got squwat compared to my drive.

Why don't you guys in the Southwest come out here and help up out. You can put it in Lake Meade.

It's almost laughable as people are anxious to place the blame on someone. How about the person that looks back at you when you face the mirror in the morning? When I know the weather is going to be bad I allow extra time to get where I am going. I believe in at least owning my own snow shovel. Just because some places have not had a harsh winter in many years does not mean a person should not be prepared for one ever.

I saw a report on how, I think it was Boston, wanting to dump the snow in the harbor. But can't due to the pollution mixed in the snow.

My question is....Where does that pollution go when it melts, runs down the storm drain, and flows out to the harbor anyway?

I gave up on snow plows here years ago. We still have one on a pickup for the light snows but we usually break out the snow blowers to get the ridge away from the drive way edge. The way we usually get drifts after about two snow you done if you just plow.

I feel for the people in the North-East for all of the snow. It is winter and there are always places that seem to get a lot of snow.

I laugh at the CLIMATE CHANGE fellows spouting how we are getting warmer so that is why we are having colder/snowier winters??????????

Yesterday in west Michigan we had wind & cold temperatures all day, not much snow, but visibility was poor & roads were icy. People were told to stay off the roads, but still had to go out because it was Valentines Day. Accidents all over the place....

C'mon! Give the polluticians some credit! They know where it goes!

Like Fred Rogers used to say in the land of make believe...it goes "somewhere else".

Where I live in central NY, the salt truck starts spreading if the weatherman says it's gonna snow. Then after it starts snowing the salt truck with a plow on the front comes north past the house with the plow scraping the blacktop. Then 20 mins later he comes down in the southbound lane doing the same thing, then back to get another load of salt and he's back 20 mins later going north again. Keeps repeating all day and all night continually spreading the salt and plowing it off. Last year I noticed no grass growing within 2 feet of the road, just low growing weeds. Which is offset by mowing the roadsides only once a year because the state can't afford it. Apparently NY has a bare road policy but it sure is tough on the vehicles. When I was a lad they had to shovel the sand off the back of the truck into a spinner spreader so it didn't get done more than once a day. And people knew enough to stay home.

And they lead up to something dramatic just before a commercial break.

It's a ruse to get people to watch the commercials. They're trained that way.

We have a weatherguesser on a local TV channel that can take 15 minutes to say it might rain tonight and then again it might not.

Those guys in Mass. need to visit Oswego, Fulton, Tug Hill area sometime if they want to see real snow. I get how a city like Boston can have huge problems with snow but there are places around the great lakes that predict snow in feet and not inches.

They do the same thing here, the road is completely white, you can't even see the yellow line there's so much salt on the road when the road is dry. I just read in the newspaper the salt supplies are running low here, gee I can't imagine why! Lol

Russ study history and you will find that the middle ages where warmer than we are now.

Greenland is the best example. When Leif Erickson discovered/settled it much more of the land was farmable as it was much warmer.

Do I think that 3-4 BILLION people can effect the planets climate??? YES.

The thing people don't realize is the planet changes to regulate what is going on pretty well. Climate huggers say that higher CO2 will cause higher temperatures. Here is what they will not talk about. HIGHER CO2 levels will encourage plant growth that will USE the CO2 and drive the levels back down.

People are trying to get policies in place looking at less than 200 years of accurate weather information. The cycles in the earths climate can easily take thousands of years to show which way they are going.

I remember the 1960-70s when they all said we where heading back in an ice age.

So which set of Science people are correct??? I say neither. The current bunch are using this to try to RULE people they can not beat at the ballot box!!!!!!

I think you are right about plant life and the environment. It wasn't too long ago that there was deforestation being done in the South American rain forest. The scientists were worried then what this would do to the climate. The same thing happened in the northern tier of the United States during the big logging boom. I wonder what this did to the earths climate? It must not have been to bad, because we are still here.

That ruse gets me to find a channel without ads for the next few minutes if such a rarity is available. TDF

I wonder how cities like Boston or NYC would handle getting 8 Ft of snow like Buffalo did or 7 Ft like Fulton, in 1 snow event, did the year before I moved into Fulton's zip code. I did, how ever, move into the country on the last road in the zip code :)

Yes there is some pretty area up there. I go to the REN fair in Sterling on 104a. I couldn't get over when I went up there the week AFTER the big lake effect snow. Wrap your brain around 158 inches of snow in less than one week!!! Mexico,ny they used a rotary plow down the main street to open up the town!

I used to work for a contractor who plowed mall parking lots. You can't imagin all the garbage that people dump out of their cars in parking lots. The snow isn't the problem!!, its the dam garbage, that is in the snow.
In the spring we would go back an power broom the parking lots and haul garbage to the landfill in triaxle dump trucks.

Saw a video where their one guy flipped out because he heard thunder in a snow storm.
Same guy who said millions would die if they couldn't see his dumb backside standing out in the wind and rain saying there was a hurricane coming.

The urge to save humanity is often a convenient disguise for the urge to rule it.
It's also known as stoplight syndrome. The reds claim to be green because they are too yellow to admit they are really red.
There are large portions of the planet where accurate weather records don't go back that far. This corner of Nebraska was off limits to settlement til statehood.
The only proof they have is their climate models and adulterated temperature data. And lets face it, if it can't get to today somewhat accurately, the model is flawed.
The sun drives it all. All the oil/ coal/ gas we use today only exists because some plant used sunlight to grow.
Remember how we were supposed to have more, more powerful, hurricanes after katrina? Then that got changed when that didn't pan out. And severe tornadoes per 5 year span are at a near 100 year low.
