My uncle uses a big loader pop retired trees out of the ground, then let's people peck away at cutting them up over the winter. In the spring pushes whatever didn't get cut and the brush and stumps into big piles and burns away. He used to cut everything up and burn the brush over the winter, then hire a guy with a backhoe in the spring to dig the stumps out. His new way is much faster and more economical.
