I think you transposed a number. Rated RPM for that Super 88 gas was also 1600 so I think peak horse power was at 1601 RPM To maybe push this one more way. I used to show my ag mechanic class two industrial engines that were rated at the same horse power at the same RPM but torque was different. It was done through the fuel system plus length of stroke was different.
