Howdy all, I just bought a 1946 Willys Jeep that has some of the rear hitch parts on it. Runs great, but of course it has had a ton of low quality work done as far as gauges and electrical. When I got it, it wasn't charging, Replaced the regulator with one for a 70 Nova since it uses a 70 Nova Delco Remy alternator. Sounded logical to me. I also replaced the Amp gauge. now it charges great, but the engine will not shut off with the key like it did before. Someone has the alternator output wire going to the input side of the ignition resistor and the alternator keeps feeding the coil. Where should the alternator output wire go? To the ignition switch? If I disconnect the battery the engine dies.
