I pretty much stopped eating at the fast food places when I started to see that it was costing me as much to get my belly full as it would to go sit in a diner and get better food. When the sandwiches started to hit the $4.00 mark, it took generally 2 sandwiches, fries, and a drink to fill me up. The tab came to around $10 for a meal for me. I can go to any of 3 local diners and get the special of the day brought to me for $8.95, and get salad bar and soup included.
Hmmmmm.....McDonalds? Or a hot fresh cooked meal served to me........ no brainer! Even leaves enough left over to give the waitress a decent tip.

For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house.
