Ah, the perennial argument over "off topic" posts. Many of us are interested in more things than farming and tractors, as evidenced by this being the longest thread on the page.
It is pretty clearly labeled- "Super Bowl". Those who aren't interested should simply pass it by. Posts here aren't a zero-sum game: that is, an off topic post doesn't prevent someone from posting a tractor post. Just skip over it.
When you go to the coffee shop in the morning, topics aren't limited to everyone's common interests, and I don't see why they should be here. Many of us post both here and in Tales, but Talk gets a much larger readership. Tales can be a little "clique-ish", and those who are not regulars often don't like it.
I was surprised at how many posted about not liking football (why bother posting, then?), but I don't object to those posts- in a fair discussion, everyone should get to state his view (but I do object to those who say they not only hate watching football, but that everyone who does is an idiot). What I do object to are those who say we shouldn't even talk about it. I have come to know a lot about personalities of the posters after 15 years or so on here, and like to hear what they have to say, even if I don't agree. I sure don't want to just tell them to shut up if they don't share my viewpoint.

In my younger days, mom, dad and my brother made frequent visits to dad's youngest brother Pete, who took over the home farm from grandpa MIke. It was the typical set-up, milk cows, pigs & chickens. In the winter, we'd play
