I am a little bit late getting into this thread, but I see a few things that are worthy of comment.... Arriving at the pickup point, you find a group of shady looking characters high on drugs....HUGE RED FLAG!!! Then, the tractor was misrepresented, and full of patch job rigging. Second red flag. I would have turned around and left at that point. RUNNING!! However, you saw the deal through. I sincerely hope that it turns out OK, and that you end up with a decent tractor that fills a spot on your want list. As to "grumpy Lou," well, he has some good points, and a lot of wisdom gained through years of living and making his way in this world. He has a harsh way of presenting it at times. I failed to see how the thread got turned into commentary on your other posts. That was out of place. A guy's first girlfriend is a wonderful thing. High emotions cloud your judgment and blind you to the potential dangers. Hard to do at 16, but go slow and be careful. Many first loves turn into nightmares, but just as many turn into happy unions that last for lifetimes. Good luck with the tractor, and keep us posted on the outcome.
