When I was young we saved our dry peas for the next years seed. We tied them up in a corn (burlap) sack and beat the sack real good with a stick the size of a broom handle. Then on a windy day we would pour them slowly from one big tub to another until all the broken pea hulls were all blown out. Then in the freezer till planting time.
