You also have to figure it might take a heavy piece of steel and a couple men to move and stick it in the tracks of a moving dozer being driven by someone who might be willing to kill you by moving the dozer or shooting from within it. He was clearly a bit crazy and it's hard to figure what the guy might do--for all they know he'd open some door and start shooting with a fully automatic rifle at them in a last blaze of glory as they approached.
