I don't understand some of these anti pipeline people, from what you have said they are by the book and do everything to make it as safe as possible and restore your land back to better than before they had been there.
I don't see or hear them protesting tanker ships coming across the oceans, chances are they have heat in their homes whether it comes from natural gas or fuel oil chances are its in a pipeline but smaller, they more than likely drive cars that they fuel up at the local gas station that has its tanks buried under the concrete slab they are parked on!!
