Since the TransCanada pipeline explosion back in September on the farm, I was invited by the project Construction Manager yesterday, to come take a tour today of the work site, which I did. I was escorted to location incident field office, had to sign in and "suit up" complete with hard hat, safety glasses and boots. I got to meet Land Management Reps, Regulatory Compliance Specialists, Environmental Specialists, not too mention Construction Manager, Heavy Equipment Operators, and Pipe Liners, as construction was halted while I was inside the fenced in area. A once in a lifetime experience for sure to see first hand a project like this and have questions explained & answered by qualified people. I must say it was eye-opening and I have a much better understanding of what is being done. Like it or not, as technology advances, I believe we will see more pipelines being built in this country to meet consumer supply & demand, as we break our dependence on foreign oil.
