A little bit won't hurt on older engines anyway I had an Oliver 500 diesel that absolutely would not start Winter or Summer without a small shot of ether ran it for over 5 years with no apparent problem gave the new owner 2 cans of ether when I sold it to him.Some of the newer compacts should never have ether so I'm told.
