I dont believe that for a second.
I will bet every dollar in my wallet somebody squealed and put enough perssure on the mall owners that the owners just gave up and said enough, the tree goes. Its a fact that these trees are a boon to the mall or where ever they are placed. In a retail outlet (like a mall), almost all of the gifts get purchaced in that establishment. Think about it, nobody goes to the mall, grabs tag which means a gift for a kid and then EXITS to go somewhere else. No, they go there to buy gifts for thier family, and usually as an afterthought, grab a tag off the tree and buy that gift too. Its a boon for the mall to have a tree up both in order to sell a few more toys and in the form of good press. Good press is the only reason banks have these trees but they need all the good press they can get.
If you peel back more to find the truth to this story, you will likely find some fruitcake like Annie Gaylor behind it. Its could be the org. that put up the tree has something going on in it (fraud ect.) but its a better bet its a fruitcake like Annie. There is one thing that is for sure though, and that the tree was not removed due to lack of profit for the mall, the mall knows full well they make money on it, not lose money and they get good press from it. Somebody caused the mall to rethink the tree to the point they were willing to remove it and lose money and get bad press and the mall felt it was better for that to happen then keep the tree. Think about it. Now find out WHO was behind this and make sure to not support them with your hard earned money. And dont forget to TELL the people behind pressuring the mall to remove the tree, WHY they cant have any more of your money.
