It is the time of the year for farm rent renewal. How are the land rent prices in your area? Are they holding the same, softening, bottoming out? My dad and I have had long time renters who do a good job of managing the land, rotating crops of corn, oats, and hay. Our land is located in SE Minnesota that has a slight roll to it with a little clay mixed into a couple of spots in the land. I couldn't tell you specific numbers about the production, but it has done well over the years. I know last year many farmers in our area were in the $350-$500 per acre. I was getting $300 per acre. The local county extension agent has been out of the office, but should be back this week to get local information. I would like to know what you are seeing around the country you live in.
