Here's a Farmall A that I grew up on. My dad put a woods belly mower under it and I would mow the orchards with it. I took it off to take it to shows and while I had it off I took a picture. The one picture of it in the orchard is at a time when the orchards were coming to an end on our farm. Looking back when I was young each orchard was a new adventure. My dad use to prune the trees by himself then in the early spring we would all go out and burn the brush. Those were the good times even if we thought different at the time. My Grandfather bought the tractor new in 1940 from Mascoutah Equipment in Mascoutah IL. It was the first Farmall A they sold at that time. My senior year in highschool back in 1978 I drove it to school for shop class to overhaul it. It was a cold winter day and I had blankets wrapped around me. I'll never forget that. My dad has since sold it several years ago. We didn't use it any more. That's my dad's Farmall 560 Diesel sitting behind the A tractor. He bought that new in 1963 with a 4-16 plow and 4 row cultivator. That's me standing next to the plow I remember spinning the depth wheel at that time. I was 3 at the then.
