Thanks Garry. Picked up my used Fort F 25-5 a few years ago. Think its a terrific machine. First skid plate (next to shoe) has been spot welded to the shoe and the cutterbar. There is also a 3/4" gap between the first and second skid plates which has got me scratching my head. Strip of metal fills gap and is welded to first skid plate. All this is good except the skid plate has developed some play because the skid plate metal that bolts to the cutterbar on one side of the skid plate has disintegrated. Thinking I would like to replace the skid plate but worried that new part won't fit. Trying to make sure I can make necessary repairs before I start cutting these spot welds. Does all this sound familiar?
