We bought a Jerr Dan trailing axle tilt trailer a few years ago from a fellow that had a little farm equipment business. The trailer was made to haul farm equipment, had combine wells on the back to handle Uni-systems and such sized combines. He also had 4 extensions that added 10 or 11 inches to each side that way he could haul balers and hay bines without have to block them up. He was telling us about how he got DOT'd one day with a disc bine on, had all 4 extensions on the pass side, said the guy went over it, around it, under it. He was sweating because he was over width with no permit, said when the guy came out from under the trailer he hit his head on an extension, looked at the equipment, this is when he thought he was done, guy came over gave him his paper work and said have a nice day. Either the guy was feeling nice or didn't notice, we'll never know.
