Front end was getting hinky on son's Dodge Durango- took it to Les Schwab, they told him ball joints and tie rod (ends, I think), only $450 to do the job. He's reasonably handy, and watched some Youtubes of guys doing the job, so decided to take it on himself. Takes a special tool, Harbor Freight wanted 80 bucks for it. Cute young gal said, "Yeah, and its only $117.00" He started protesting, and she grinned and chucked him on the arm and said "Kidding, just kidding- $117 deposit, bring it back in good shape, you get $117 back, so its free. Gotta buy the parts here, though." They told him it was a 3 hour job, so he budgeted all day. Haven't heard how it went.
