If you have a closed center valve for the splitter you can tie the lever on the tractor to let the SCV operate in continuous(or change the linkage to let it stay in detent). The pump will go out of stroke if the required pressure exceeds standby (about 2350 psi) with no harm to the pump. If you have an open center valve on the splitter the pump will stay in stroke flowing oil through the valve in the nuetral position causing cavitation, heating and poor performance.
