Get the shot. I had shingles in 2008 and it lasted most of 3 months. somedays I had to stay in bed all day because of the pain. I have had 16 major surgeries including open heart surgery. 2 shoulders replacements, a small intestine resection, 2 knee replacements, and 2 hand surgeries caused by the shoulder replacement , hernias, gall bladder, appendix etc., and the only pother painful experience is when the tendon in my arm/wrist shrunk because of shoulder replacement. buT NOWHERES NEAR what Shingles is the most painful in my life experience. Even if you get them after the shot they will not be as painful or last as long.please do yourself a real favoe and get the shot. You have nothing to lose, only a positive gain. Henry
