Lots of very good suggestions have already been made.
Another idea is to have the starter cleaned and maybe rebuilt so it is as efficient as possible. Clean the major electrical connections to minimize any voltage drops, and make sure the ignition system is in top condition.
Two last suggestion might be considered a sacrilege on a tractor restoration forum, but if the tractor is kept in a shed with no electricity, I would replace the generator with an alternator. An alternator will have a better chance of fully recharging the battery between starts, especially if the tractor must be used with the lights on. Aftermarket lights can be more efficient than the original lights. Keep the original generator and lights in case you want to put them back on the tractor in the future.
