The mid 2000 year escapes have a problem with the rear shock towers. They developed cracking and eventually the shock mounts rust out and break thru. Ford had a gusset available as a repair, but it is no longer available. Also the rear shock towers/ inner wheel houses have even out of production and are not available. We have repaired several by fabricating new towers and welding them in. Check the tower area for cracking or corrosion. If they are ok, have a good body shop with a frame rack measure the rear suspension and see what is bent. They can straighten it for you.
