I was one of the poorest kids in school.I never graduated from high school. I went into the military and took GED and also came out with one semester of college. I was refused an invitation to the alumni banquet. Later I went to the local university and earned and was awarded BS and MA. I was the only one in my class to earn a MA. Opened a business in the same town and printed programs for the alumni banquet at no charge and contributed money for table decorations. Do you think I would go to THEIR banquet? I like to tell this story and I smile at the haughty ones
