It doesn't matter what the rest of us married guys do or don't do what matters is that you want to wear it when not working. So When you're working you hang it on a toggle switch and when not "working" you go get tools or whatever why not have a nail/hook either by the door or a convient spot where you see it to hang it on. Another thought is to set it on the dresser for those at home "work" days.
And yes it's a good thing your wife knows how important it is to you.
