I don't wear any jewelry. I wore a wedding ring when I was younger but then I joined the FD and it was discouraged. We were told they would cut it off with bolt cutters if we had a hand injury and I did not want it damaged. So I put it on my wife's ring holder. She asked about it and I told her "I can't wear it, it cuts off my circulation!" She hated that joke. :)
When I said goodbye to the FD I found I could no longer stand to have a ring on my hands and was too impatient to learn to get used to it. Now it really does not fit anymore. So it stays on the ring holder...safe and sound...which is where you should leave yours. In the house on a ring holder whenever you are doing shop work.
