I had a call similar to that a couple of years ago and said my card was frozen until I called back. They left a number but I called the one that comes with the bill. Turns out it was frozen - we had bought some things in places that weren't normal for us (one was from England) and it triggered a freeze until we called and verified we were actually the people buying. It was good to know the credit card company noticed the odd purchases. I would never call a number left on the phone just to be on the safe side as more times than not it will be a scam.
