37chief, I did just to see of I could meet the challenge. Didn't really have a lot to do today.
The end plate was crimped in place with 4 tabs that wouldn't bend. I actually bent the outer case to get the bell off.
I've taken small fan motors apart before to clean the bearings, oil and put back together. The fan motors were crimped together, but nothing like the thick metal of the dewalt. Not to mention getting the brushes out of the way when I put it back together. Then the 3 speed transmission was the biggest challenge.
