This is a common problem in restaurants and bars. They are fruit flies and they thrive and breed in the sugar from alcohol in the drains. Bars cover all drains, taps and bottle openings with plastic wrap overnight. The way to prevent the infestations is by thorough cleaning of the drains, in order to eliminate the food source.
