I can't agreee. Lead is persistant in the environment. Pb gets in the soil and on food it is very toxic, and studies show that even very low levels (5 micorgrams/deciliter) in children can cause developmental problems. Unlike lead, the aromatics delute and degrade quickly in the environment. Not a lot of evidence infrequent low level exposures present much risk. Certianly it does not accumulate in body tissues or bone like lead does. That does not mean accute or cronic exposures can't kill you. You are completely correct about asbestos, but how are you going to mine it, manufacture it into some product, itstall it or remove it without breathing it ? DDT works great, wished I had some.
