: Okay this is my first time here. I have a Model MT, I'm not sure what year and I was wondering how I could find out. I've looked for manufacturing dates and I can't find any. Is there a way of determining year from serial number ( like say a 360594 maybe a 1943 ) I have a sickle bar mower attached to the rear of it and I just wanted to restore the tractor and know how old it was. I was also told that John Deere Green and John Deere Antique Green is the same color, can any one help me as of what color my tractor is. I always thought Antique green seemed to be more yellow green than dark green. I am also looking into a Model "B" which has lights near the steering wheel, is this standard or would it help determine the year??? Thanks in advance... Mud Mud, Welcome to YTmag. Having the serial number will enable you to find the year of manufacture with no problem. Just post it back here and I or someone else will look it up for you. I've always been told that JD Green is JD Green. The differences in shade are from weathering and fading. The fact that the "B" has lights would help to narrow the range of years it could have been made, but the placement is standard. While you're at it restore the mower too, if it's an original JD. Good Luck! Jogg.
