Rt 30 is scenic, goes right through downtown Gettysburg, Chambersburg, winds over the mountains. In Somerset county flight 93 memorial and Quecreek miners memorial just off 30. Ohiopyle if you like forested mountains with white-water rapids in Fayette county. Tons to do in Lancaster area but a lot is tourist-trap Amish attractions and shopping outlets. Harley-Davidson plant in York is good if you like that. Pa Capitol building in Harrisburg is impressive also next-door is PA state museum. A more northern scenic route is 322 goes through Penn State University, not as populated but lots of forest. Look at a map, plan a route, Google the towns that you will pass through.
