So Dan, are you saying us big city folks should subsidize mail delivery to rural areas ? If so why ? I believe in the market economey, supply and demand should rule. Near where I farm is a town, Reva South Dakota. Something like 6 customers, and it is miles to the next post office. Lots of rural delivery post office boxes miles apart. I can't blame USPS for wanting to git rid of that place. In Manhatten NY they have 6 customers every 50 ft. Where would try to make money delivering mail? Hopefully congress will set USPS free and let them charge on actual cost of the service.
