I know my outboard is suppose to have the impeller and water pump housing inspected yearly. Most usually replace the impeller while they are in there if it needs it or not.
The impeller and water pump housing is suppose to be replaced every 3 years if it needs it or not.
Not worth the headaches and worries of it breaking 25 miles from the dock.
What do you use your boat for? fishing; skiing; pleasure riding. Mine is 99% fishing and 1% pleasure riding.
