My son goes to a vocational high school for IT/computers - and even he has to get the OSHA certification (10 hour).
As I tell him, I don't care whether or not it's directly applicable to his career - ANY certification that a kid can have on his resume right out of high school is a good thing.
Is it more or less valuable than some other certification within the ag industry, I couldn't tell you. I'm sure others here can.
But I can say for sure, when you're doing the hiring for any position, even just one certification like that can make a kid stick out above the hundreds of other resumes piled on a desk that don't have it.
