It's valuable alright......as in you can NOT work on "any" federally funded raod or bridge project without it. ALL contractors have to have all their (on site)employees complete this. When they say "10 hours"....they MEAN 10 hours. You can go online and take the course....which really entails about 17-18 total hours. You take each chapter and then a test for each chapter. Some of it is tiresome and common sense, but some of it is really educational. Whenever an engineering firm puts a job out for bid, there is always the notice that all employees have their 10 hour OSHA certificate. As I understand it, it is good for life after that. I took the course. The cost online is about $100.00.
