I spent a lot of money over the years at chiropractors for my lower back. I finally reached a point where they couldn't fix it any more. So I had to do something else or quit working. I went to am orthopedic surgeon expecting the worst. They perscribed a medication called Methocarbamol. It is not a muscle relaxer but an anti spasm drug. About two or three times per year I will get a kink in my back that used to put me flat out for a few days. Now when I feel it coming on I start taking the metho and can keep going - stiff and sore but going. It also reduces the duration of the kink. I kind of OD on the stuff for a couple of days - take twice the perscribed amount. Ask about it. For me it has been a wonder drug.
