Take the belt off the water pump and run it BRIEFLY. Watch for air bubbles in the rad. Easy way to spot a blown head gasket or crack. The old flat heads will leak at the gasket. Not a big deal. Take off the head have it surfaced put on new gasket. The 4 and 6 cyl conts are good engines!
